Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is the foundation of our clinic. Even though Chiropractic has been a unified healing art for well over a hundred years, it has been utilized by various cultures around the world for much longer than that. There are still many who do not understand what this healing art is or how it helps the body to heal. Chiropractic physicians analyze the structures of the human body, most notably the spinal column. They look for misalignments and regions that are "fixated" (technically known as subluxations.) Subluxations can cause muscle and joint pain, but they also affect the body's nervous system. Manifestation of nervous system involvement can include symptoms such as radiating pain like sciatica, or as less obvious symptoms such as asthma, headaches/migraines or even stomach ailments. The conditions and symptoms that subluxations can cause are much too numerous to list.

A Chiropractic adjustment is the term that is used when a Chiropractor realigns and restores motion to the spine and/or other joints. The techniques are gentle and virtually painless often causing immediate relief and well-being. The remarkable thing about Chiropractic care is that subluxations can be detected early and corrected even before a person realizes that they are causing a problem. Chiropractic medicine is a highly effective preventative medicine strategy that many of our patients utilize to maintain optimal health and prevent costly medical care.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the ancient healing art of treating the body's meridian systems. Meridians are energy pathways believed to be a sensory system in the body. They are divided into 12 different channels running continuously throughout the human body. Acupuncture and meridian theory originated in ancient China. Amazingly, the ancient Chinese healers were able to discover these pathways in the body and map them with astounding accuracy without the use of sophisticated equipment.

Acupuncture points are points on the body where the meridians come

to the skin's  surface. It appears as if they act like a radio receiver taking in electromagnetic fields (EMF) in the environment and feeding the information into the body, causing the body to

adapt to the environment.

For example, bears sense the change in their environment as  fall turns to winter through this system. This environmental change stimulates their bodies to release hormones that initiate hibernation.. If this system is interrupted, it causes the bear's body to be out of sync with its' surroundings which leads to disharmony and hence disease.

By treating acupuncture points with very fine acupuncture needles, or stimulating the acupuncture points with various other techniques, the balance of the body can be restored to respond correctly to environmental stimuli and health can be restored.

The combination of Chiropractic and Acupuncture is extremely effective for balancing the body and supporting optimal health. These modalities are on the cutting edge of modern cost effective healthcare. Our patients have been reaping the benefits of these combined therapies for over two decades.

Physical Therapy Modalities

Physical therapy modalities are therapy treatments which include  therapeutic ultrasound to increase blood circulation and reduce acute pain, electric muscle stimulation to reduce inflammation and muscle tension and micro-current which blocks pain and assist in acupuncture treatments, as well as many other effective physical therapy modalities.

Our clinic utilizes physical therapy modalities for several purposes. Often , they help loosen areas of tension and help prepare the body for Chiropractic adjustments which allows treatment to be more effective. They also help control pain and help control musculo-skeletal issues that do not resolve instantly. Using physical therapy modalities

in addition to Chiropractic adjustments help reduce a patient's pain and

shorten the length of care plans. They are an integral part of the

treatments in our office.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a natural complement to Chiropractic care but can also be utilized as a stand alone treatment. Often patterns of muscle tension are set in the body for weeks, months or even years tend to affect posture, range of motion and quality of life. Massage therapy can work wonders along with Chiropractic adjustments to reset the normal tension in the muscular system. Massage therapy is an effective way to reduce pain and stiffness which in turn allows the spine and nervous system to work most efficiently.

Just like all other treatments in our office, each session is tailored

to meet each patient's needs. Our licensed massage therapists

combine techniques such as Swedish technique (relaxation massage)

with deep tissue work (to break up areas of tension)

in order to provide the most effective outcome for each session.

*Please note: We do not file insurance for massage therapy service, but will provide you with a receipt upon request to turn into your carrier for any reimbursement you may wish to pursue.*
